I remember the day my Nexus has come today I still would not have been fought in this unit. I bought a T-Mobile version of the Nexus S if I had a radio HSPA + and now Google and Sprint are the deployment of 4G WiMAX radio Nexus S given me the device. You can see some photos of the 4G S Nexus in my gallery of photos and some thoughts on the device later. I have the intention to spend some time with this pure unity Google to see if the experiment is a compromise in the specifications. I think we'll see it being distributed to participants at the conference Google I / O conference today too.

The box and first impressions

The Nexus S 4G comes in the white box with a primary color points out that we have come to expect from Google Android devices with these pure. You can find Nexus S 4G, battery, USB cable and charger, wired stereo headset, and some tracts in the box.

It was the first unit Nexus S, I had the opportunity to hold and it is an attractive unit. It has a high gloss black plastic and is a fingerprint magnet. Personally, I'm not a big fan of plastic devices from Samsung, but they compensate for this with fantastic displays. The 4-inch AMOLED WVGA Super is the ideal size for a smartphone, and it feels good in my hand.

Walk around the hardware

On the front of the 4G Nexus S is dominated by 4-inch curved screen at the front which is fantastic. The hardware buttons are different than I'm used to from HTC, so there's a bit of a learning curve there. A front facing VGA camera is to the right speaker headset with sensor and light sensor for the left speaker.

The only thing on the right is the power button on the left side of the house, and a volume control button. 3.5 mm headset jack, microUSB port, and a microphone on the bottom. There is nothing on top except for a notch lever on the rear panel.

This is a 5 megapixel camera with flash and a loud speaker on the upper back. The device is pretty basic and simple, which is usually what people want to own these devices with Google's Android.

Express ideas and software performance

Nexus S 4G works Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and is very refreshing to find a camera with nothing loaded in it. Once again, Sprint has excellent services that are included in your monthly subscription (NASCAR Sprint Cup, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV) and none of them are loaded into the device. However, the good news is that you can download some of these yourself and that is what should always be done on these devices!

The Gingerbread keyboard on the device and so far I have this that works pretty well. I can still download Swype and me too. I have yet to try to NFC.

It 'was great to see Google and Sprint are the 3G/4G pass, even if it is hidden in the settings. At least you can manage the battery a little 'more easily than you can for the Thunderbolt.

I took a few pictures and it looks very good taking pictures in good light. Flash seems to work quite well in low light conditions.

You will find useful in WiFi wireless access point network configuration of the entire area. Sprint will charge $ 29.99 for use of the connection point, but the good thing is that we still have limited data on their service. You will also pay the premium cost of $ 10 data plan so they are looking for a minimum of $ 79.99 before taxes and fees hotspot.

Price and Availability

Nexus S 4G is available now for $ 199.99 with minimum voice and data plan with 2 year contract. The sale price is $ 549.99.

End of the first thoughts

4G Nexus S is a solid unit and it is refreshing to run Google purely a device with the latest version of Android. With so many high-end smartphones Android hit the streets can be difficult to choose one with an old processor (not necessarily slower), no expandable memory, and the design of shiny plastic.
